Last Day for NJN – New Jersey Public Television Goes Dark due to Christie & NJ State Senate

Posted on June 30, 2011

Thank You and Farewell from NJN

Dear Friends,

Thank you for being a partner in public media with us for over forty years. You – our members, our viewers, our listeners – have made NJN possible. Over the years, you’ve looked to NJN to tell the stories from your communities and to keep you informed on the issues that matter most in New Jersey. But you’ve done so much more. You’ve given us your voice and your opinions during call-in programs about health, the economy, jobs.

You’ve joined us out in the community, whether to speak with our NJN News crews, to hear from guest speakers at our community lectures, or to celebrate valuable New Jersey programs with us during documentary premieres and special screenings. You’ve given us a remarkable amount of support, whether through volunteer efforts during fundraising drives and community engagement projects, by joining us at benefits and concerts, or through generous annual financial support.

Because of you, we have been able to focus on some of the best stories of the Garden State. We have been able to bring you breaking news stories and updates on politics, science, business, medicine and education. We have highlighted the arts, the environment, and history. We have showcased diversity and stories about you and your neighbors – and we hope you have enjoyed the wide variety that has been offered to you.

But now our run is over. And we will miss you very much. Reflecting on four decades of dedicated service to the people of New Jersey, we at NJN feel honored to have been invited into your homes each day.

As we sign off for good this time, the talented staff here at NJN say farewell to our loyal friends and wish the very best for you, and for the future of public broadcasting in the Garden State.
